Review: MAKE UP FOR EVER Full Cover Concealer

Lately, my skin problem has not been active breakouts, but the scars that past breakouts have left behind. Several months ago, I found myself looking for a new concealer and came across the MAKE UP FOR EVER Full Cover Concealer ($30). Sephora is the exclusive retailer for this concealer and it is available in twelve shades.

Although it is slightly thick, it applies nicely to your skin without feeling too cakey, and since it is so thick, a lot of product is not necessary. This concealer is great for covering pretty much anything from hyper pigmentation, to active acne, to scaring. The only area I wouldn't recommend this for is under your eyes.

Quick tip: Apply your concealer first, because applying your foundation afterwards will give your skin a more flawless finish.

Golden Globe's 2012: Best Dressed

Sunday night's Golden Globe awards brought out most of the top men and women in Hollywood, and unfortunately some of the most awful dresses I have seen, hopefully this isn't a prediction for the fashions of the upcoming award season, but here are my top three looks from Sunday's awards.

Review: Benefit The POREfessional

My skin has been less than perfect through my teenage years, so I am always testing new primers and foundations to create a flawless yet natural look for my skin. A product I have been using for about a month is Benefit Cosmetic's The POREfessional ($29). When applied under foundation as a primer, this oil-free translucent silky balm minimizes the appearance of pores.

Overall, the balm leaves your skin looking better before you even apply your foundation. Note that it isn't meant to minimize your pores over time, but only minimize their appearance once you apply the balm. I typically apply the balm onto my T-zone where my pores appear the largest, over another primer, and a little goes a long way! I recommend this 100% if you want to reduce oil and smooth out your skin.

Review: Murad Acne Spot Treatment

Once in a while, I have a major breakout freakout- and these moments do not typically go over well. The Murad Acne Spot Treatment ($18) combines sulfur, zinc, salicylic acid, and licorice root extract to reduce the appearance of, heal, and soothe acne.

I have combination skin that feels normal to dry without any makeup, but by the end of the day it is very oily. This product is slightly drying, so only use a little bit on the affected area, but after a few uses you will be able to tell if it will dry out your skin. It feels slightly gritty when you rub it into the affected area, but after you apply moisturizer, you can't tell it's there. I would not recommend using this in the morning unless you do not plan on applying makeup because it may give a streaky appearance to your skin.

Quick tip: Always apply your strongest product to your skin first, i.e. your acne creams or spot treatments before you moisturize and tone. The first product you apply will penetrate your skin the deepest.
